Can’t I just ask my friends who are lawyers for advice or a referral?

If you have close contacts who are lawyers and able to advise you, you should certainly do so.
However, there might be several reasons why you may still want to use a Quick Consult:
You may not have friends who are lawyers or may not have the right expertise / experience to advise or recommend to you
You may want a second opinion to verify the advice you’ve been given and additional perspectives and options
- Your topic may be sensitive and you don’t want to discuss this with your friends
We want it to be easy and affordable to get legal help as you might see a doctor. Similarly, we highly encourage that you get a 2nd opinion just as you might get from a doctor on a medical condition. With a Quick Consult, it has never been more risk-free, affordable or risk-free to get a 2nd opinion on a pressing legal matter.
